The TU Treasures Oral History Collection is an on-going oral history program created to document experiences of alumni, faculty and staff of the Trinity University community. This group of interviews for the collection were gathered by students in the inaugural Introduction to Oral History class, HIST 3467, taught by History Professor Dr. Lauren Turek and University Archivist Abra Schnur in the fall 2024 semester. Support for recording equipment and hosting on Aviary was provided by the Summerlee Foundation in 2024.
As with many university archives, our repository is mainly representative of administrative and public facing content. The goal of this coursework and class is to fill gaps in knowledge and understanding of the larger Trinity experience through the use of oral history methodology. Further, it hopes to illuminate how their time at Trinity shaped their post-graduate life. These interviews intend to serve as a resource for future generations of the Trinity community and the public at large.
By the end of the class students conducted and indexed interviews with members of the Trinity community. Their work has been instrumental to the interviews being properly archived and made available on this page at the discretion of the narrator.
