In the summer of 2021, the East Asian Studies interdisciplinary program at Trinity University, in conjunction with the Special Collections and Archives division of Coates Library, launched a project to research the origin and development of the field of Asian Studies as an academic discipline on the campus. The current page documents the stories of four faculty instrumental in bringing Asia to Trinity: history professor Donald Clark, philosophy professor Ewing Chinn, and religion professors Mackenzie Brown and Randall Nadeau. As the EAST Oral History Initiative is an ongoing project, as current EAST faculty retire, their stories will be added to this page.
