DeBakey High School for Health Professions. Anh-Viet grew up in a big family surrounded by a big Vietnamese community. Additionally, he is a second generation immigrant and first generation college student in his family. Anh-Viet attended Trinity University graduating in 2015 with a major in Biology. He is currently working at Trinity University, located in San Antonio, Texas, in their strategic communications and marketing office. (Biographical Note)","This interview focuses on Anh-Viet's experiences during his time at Trinity University. He walks through his upbringing in Houston, where being surrounded by a large family instills in him a strong sense of community—a value he carries into college. In 2011, Anh-Viet begins his freshman year and shares his experiences discovering the various communities and clubs on campus, making new friends, and pursuing a biology major. Throughout his time at Trinity, Anh-Viet actively participates in numerous cultural organizations, including the Vietnamese Student Association, where he serves as Vice President during his junior year, the Korean Student Association, and the Filipino Student Association. He also engages in photography for school, contributing to the Mirage and the Trinitonian, and creates his own collection titled “Trinity University: Then and Now.” He is a part of the student ambassadors and resides in HOPE Hall for two years, during his sophomore and junior years. Anh-Viet graduates in 2015 with a degree in biology and currently works at Trinity University’s Strategic Marketing and Communications Office. Concluding the interview, Anh-Viet reflects on his time at Trinity now that it has been a few years since he graduated, sharing some of his new perspectives.
